Douglas Eaton, Accredited Investment Fiduciary®, CWS®, CDFA®

Raised in Hollywood, FL, educated at University of Miami School of Business (degree in Finance), Doug began his financial planning career in New York City. He has provided financial advisory services to individuals, families and business owners since 1996.

His firm, Eaton Financial Group, is a Registered Investment Adviser ("RIA"). They custody client assets and place trades with one of the most robust and trusted financial institutions anywhere in the financial industry, TD Ameritrade Institutional. TD Ameritrade is dedicated to supporting RIAs who are determined to grow, thrive, and make their clients’ lives better.

His singular mission is to bring simplicity and clarity to his clients' lives - by growing their wealth and creating an income they cannot outlive - so that they may live life with financial peace of mind.

He lives in Parkland, Florida with his wife of 20 years, and two teenage daughters. Immersed in the local community, he is also an avid runner (marathons and half-marathons), practices yoga, and greatly enjoys traveling and spending quality time with his family.

Why did you decide to become a Financial Advisor?

As a child, my father experienced a catastrophic illness, and debilitated, he could not earn a living. My mother, with little work experience, had only limited earning potential. With no insurance or savings, this was financially devastating to our family. Therefore, early on, I recognized the significance of being properly insured and having a sound family financial strategy.

In my late 20s, I began to invest, and also purchased disability and life insurance for myself. Soon after, the agent who sold me the insurance recruited me into the business.

The opportunity to provide such an important function to families resonates with me. Early in my career, my mentors showed me the proper way to do financial planning and take care of my clients - their interests always come first - and I realized that providing financial advice is for me the best career in the world. I get to spend my days teaching people how NOT to worry about money.

What do you enjoy most about your clients?

Our core value is to blend the industry’s financial planning component with personal relationships – NOT keep them separate and distinct. The shared laughs, tears, celebrations, and hardships are the most enjoyable part of my work. It’s like having an extended network of friends and family. My days are filled with relevant conversations about the things that make my clients feel safe and fulfilled, and I am very grateful for these relationships.

How is Eaton Financial Group currently involved in your community?

I live and work in a small town in the Southeastern part of Florida, called Parkland. Together with my family, we regularly have the opportunity to donate our time and resources in ways that we hope will have a sustainable and positive impact in our community. We will support almost anything related to making the community a safer place to live, improving the local public schools and strengthening the business community. In addition, as running and yoga enthusiast, and general fitness “nut”, I love to support sports-related charitable causes.

We also volunteer time and devote resources to the “differently-abled” community and serve as a mentoring capacity to students at Stoneman Douglas High School in DECA (The international business studies program).
